Anniversary sessions are the opposite of engagement sessions in one important way: the couple has usually been photographed properly exactly once, at their wedding, and that was a long time ago.
That changes the job. People who have not been in front of a camera for ten or twenty years arrive self-conscious, often slightly reluctant, and frequently pushed into it by one partner or by their children. The first fifteen minutes of an anniversary shoot are spent getting past that, and a photographer who starts firing instructions immediately will get stiff, posed results for the whole session. We shoot these slowly and conversationally, and the usable frames start when people stop performing.
Three versions of this come up repeatedly in the UAE. The first is the milestone portrait session — ten, twenty, twenty-five years — often with adult children and grandchildren included, which turns it into a family shoot with the couple at the centre. The second is recreating the wedding photographs: same poses, same framing, decades later. It is sentimental and it works, and it is worth bringing the original prints so we can match composition properly rather than approximately. The third is the vow renewal, which is a small event rather than a portrait session and is covered like one.
There is a practical UAE consideration worth planning around. Many couples here want their anniversary photographs with family who are visiting from abroad, which means the shoot is pinned to someone else's travel dates rather than to good light or good weather. Tell us that constraint early. It is workable, but it changes where we shoot and at what hour, and it is much easier to solve two weeks out than two days out.
Pricing starts at AED 1,500 for a couple session. Family groups, vow renewal coverage and multi-location sessions are quoted on scope.

FAQs
We have not been photographed since our wedding. Will it be awkward?
For the first ten or fifteen minutes, usually yes, and that is normal. We plan for it rather than fight it: the session starts with the two of you simply walking and talking while we shoot from a distance, and the directed frames come later once that has worn off. Rushing straight into posing is what produces stiff anniversary photographs.
Can you recreate our original wedding photos?
Yes, and it is one of the most requested anniversary sessions we shoot. Bring the original prints or scans. Matching composition properly needs the reference in hand on the day — working from memory gets you close but not close enough for the two images to sit side by side convincingly.
Can our children and grandchildren be in the shoot?
Yes. Multi-generation anniversary sessions are common here, particularly when family have flown in. Tell us the group size in advance, because a session with eleven people needs a different location and a different amount of time than a session with two.
Do you cover vow renewals?
Yes. A vow renewal is an event rather than a portrait session, so it is covered like one — ceremony, guests, speeches and the formal group photographs, plus a couple session before or after. These are scoped by guest count and duration.
What is the best time of year for an anniversary shoot in the UAE?
October to April is comfortable for outdoor sessions at almost any time of day. Between June and September, outdoors realistically means the hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset, and we would otherwise suggest an indoor or studio setting. Your anniversary date is your anniversary date, so we work with it either way.
How much does an anniversary photoshoot cost in Dubai?
From AED 1,500 for a couple session. Larger family groups, vow renewal event coverage, and sessions across two locations are quoted on scope, itemised in writing before booking.
Do you shoot anniversary sessions outside Dubai?
Yes, across all seven emirates with no travel premium inside the UAE. Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are all regularly used for anniversary sessions and are considerably quieter than central Dubai locations.
