COMMERCIAL PROPERTY VIDEO & PHOTOGRAPHY

Office, Retail and Industrial Space — Marketed Properly

Commercial property in the UAE is marketed far less well than residential, and the gap is obvious the moment you look. Residential listings in Dubai routinely carry cinematic walkthroughs and twilight photography. Office floors, retail units and warehouses — assets worth substantially more — are still commonly marketed with phone photographs of empty grey space. That gap is the opportunity. Backyard Studio Official produces commercial property content across the UAE for landlords, brokers, developers and fit-out contractors: office towers and floors in DIFC, Business Bay and JLT; retail units across Dubai's malls and high streets; warehouses and light industrial space in Al Quoz, DIP, Jebel Ali and Sharjah's industrial areas; and completed fit-out projects for contractors and designers. Commercial buyers and tenants make decisions differently from residential ones. A family responds to how a home feels. A commercial tenant is calculating floor plate efficiency, ceiling height, power and cooling provision, loading access, parking ratios and how the space works once fitted out. Content that ignores those questions is decoration, not marketing.

The Challenge

Empty commercial space is genuinely difficult to film compellingly. There is no furniture to create scale or warmth, lighting is usually harsh overhead fluorescent or absent entirely, and vast grey floor plates flatten out on camera into featureless rectangles. Warehouses combine enormous scale with very low light. Office towers create severe contrast between bright glazing and dark interior. And the details that actually decide a commercial deal — slab-to-slab height, column spacing, power provision, loading bay access — are precisely the things that generic property footage never shows.

Our Solution

We film commercial space to answer the questions a tenant is actually asking. That means deliberately shooting for scale — using a person in frame, wide focal lengths and consistent camera height so floor plates read accurately rather than deceptively. We bring lighting into warehouses and dark floor plates instead of relying on whatever the ceiling provides, and we expose for interiors with windows recovered in post so glazing shows the view rather than blowing out to white. Where the asset justifies it, aerial coverage establishes location, access and surrounding infrastructure, which for industrial and logistics property is often the decisive factor.

FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS

How much does commercial property video cost in Dubai?

A single asset — one office floor, retail unit or warehouse — with video and stills typically starts from AED 4,500 for a half-day shoot. Multi-floor towers and portfolio packages are priced per asset with discounts at volume, which is how most landlords and brokers book it.

Do you film empty commercial space?

Yes, and most commercial work is empty space. It requires a different approach from residential: we bring lighting rather than relying on ceiling fixtures, and shoot deliberately for scale — including a person in frame where useful — because empty floor plates otherwise read as smaller and flatter on camera than they are in person.

Can you cover warehouses and industrial property?

Yes. Warehouses in Al Quoz, DIP, Jebel Ali and Sharjah's industrial zones are a regular part of our work. Industrial space needs specific treatment: lighting for very large low-lit volumes, and coverage of the details that decide deals — clear height, loading bays, yard depth, power provision and access.

Do you produce content for fit-out contractors?

Yes. Completed project films are one of the strongest marketing assets a fit-out contractor or interior designer can own, because the finished space is the portfolio. We film on completion before handover, which is the only window when the space is finished and still unoccupied.

Can you include aerial footage of commercial buildings?

Yes, where permitted — aerial coverage is available within our productions using GCAA-licensed pilots and the required approvals. For industrial and logistics assets it is often the most valuable shot in the package, because access, road links and yard area are what tenants are assessing.

Do you shoot for brokers as well as landlords?

Yes. We work with landlords, developers and brokerages. For brokers with multiple listings we price per asset across a portfolio, which keeps per-listing cost workable while maintaining a consistent visual standard across everything they market.
