RESTAURANT PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

Food Content That Fills Tables and Delivery Queues

A restaurant in Dubai competes across three battlegrounds simultaneously: dine-in discovery through Google Maps and delivery apps, social media visibility through Instagram and TikTok, and direct reservation through your website. Each channel has different content requirements. Backyard Studio produces photography and video for Dubai restaurants and cafes that performs across all three. We work with restaurants across all Dubai dining categories — casual dining, fine dining, casual cafe, specialty coffee, cloud kitchens, and multi-branch F&B groups — and across all cuisine types including Emirati, Arabic, South Asian, East Asian, and European concepts.

The Challenge

Most Dubai restaurants underinvest in visual content and then wonder why their delivery app ranking stagnates and their social feeds fail to generate reservations. The reality is that delivery platforms explicitly factor photography quality into their algorithmic ranking — menus with professional food photography outperform equivalent menus with smartphone images by a measurable margin in click-through and conversion.

Our Solution

We approach restaurant content as a commercial system, not a creative exercise. Every food photography session is planned around the menu hierarchy — hero dishes first, supporting menu items second, drinks and desserts third. Delivery app images are shot to platform specifications. Ambience photography is scheduled for peak visual times. Reels are scripted against your specific reservation or delivery call-to-action.

FAQ

COMMON QUESTIONS

How do you handle food styling for restaurant shoots?

Our food photography team includes a food stylist as standard. The stylist works with your kitchen team to ensure dishes are plated to your standard, then applies professional styling techniques to make each dish look its best on camera.

Can you shoot during service hours?

We prefer to work during prep periods — before or after service — for menu photography so your kitchen team is not disrupted. Ambience photography and Reels requiring atmosphere can be scheduled during a quiet service period.

What delivery app specifications do you shoot to?

We are familiar with the image specifications for Talabat, Deliveroo, Noon Food, Careem Food, and HungerStation. Our delivery app photography package delivers images at the correct dimensions and file size for each platform.

Do you offer ongoing monthly content for restaurant social media?

Yes. Our restaurant monthly content packages include one shoot session per month delivering 8 to 12 new food images, 4 Reels, and a 30-piece Instagram Stories content calendar.

Can you produce content in Arabic for GCC markets?

Yes. We deliver caption copy in English and Arabic as standard for delivery app content. Social media content can be produced with Arabic text overlays.

How do you handle lighting in dark or atmospheric restaurant interiors?

We use low-intensity LED panels and bounce boards rather than direct flash, and we adjust the white balance to maintain the warmth of candlelight and Edison bulb environments.
